To raise awareness of the Community Clubhouse campaign, we have launched a competition for our junior players to design a new club mascot.

Here's some of the entries so far. Think you can do better?

All age-groups are invited to get involved by entering our competition to:

1 Design a mascot for our campaign - draw your own picture of a panther to be a friend of our official club logo. Maybe it's a fun character or even a girlfriend for our existing panther.

2 Think of a name for your panther - the more creative the better, and tell us why you have chosen the name.

The winning design will also serve as a 'junior' logo for our campaign and could feature on a variety of items associated with the junior section of the club. The competition will be judged by a well-known personality, and featured on our website, along with the winner. Please note: by entering the competition, you also agree to have your photograph taken for publication.

All you have to do is:

  • draw your mascot on a piece of A4 paper. Keep it simple and try not to use too much block colour
  • write the name of your panther
  • explain why you have chosen the name
  • include your name, football year, parent/guardian contact details including email address

The new closing date for entries is March 31, so get cracking!

Please hand your entry into your coach or post it to: Logo Competition, 218 Hamilton Drive, Holgate, York YO24 4PH

NB These details can also be found on our junior pages.

Our thanks to the City of York Athletic Club for more support for our plans to build a new multi-sport clubhouse and public cafe on the Little Knavesmire. The new facilities will be available for use by all community groups in the area.

Club officials told members that the "new facility on this site will be a great advantage to distance running in the area, enabling us to stage more events in more pleasant facilities, with changing rooms, cafe, and better space for admin/results. Please support this."
